Our Story
GSSA was founded with a rebellious spirit and a lofty objective: to offer quality advice for doing business in the Gulf States region. In 2013 Jan Reimers had a vision of creating a different kind of consultancy: it would be highly specialized in one region, it would focus on bespoke solutions, it would focus on advice for small and medium enterprises (the "Mittelstand") otherwise only available to global players.
In Benjamin Hübner and Johannes Moll he found two eager co-founders to set up GSSA with an ideal combination of backgrounds: economics, political science and law plus long standing consulting experience. First and foremost they share Middle East related working experience and a long standing interest in all things Middle East. Intense discussions of the region´s Affairs (from OPEC Oil Producers interest in renewable energies to familiy trees of Gulf monarchies) are no rare occurrence in our offices....
Starting with one modest contract they soon found proof of the assumption that by the book consulting work will not satisfy clients’ requests when it comes to the Gulf Region. Clients were asking for something different: in-depth understanding of economic and political developments. In order to provide a big picture understanding, GSSA draws heavily on until now untapped regional knowledge in academia. "Unpacking" the structure of a Gulf State can only be achieved this way.
Always aware of clients changing needs, we have broadened our range of services. Today GSSA encompasses a network of permanent and seasonal consultants possessing a thorough understanding of specific requirements of doing business in the region. Satisfied clients are the only measure of our success.
